As I sit here and look at this picture taken of our baby, just yesterday...I can't help but wonder what it will be like when those beautiful eyes are actually looking up into mine for the first time. Waiting for this little angel to join our family has been an incredible experience!
It has been a ride of emotions from the very beginning on January 8th when the doctor called and told us we were pregnant...words I thought I'd never hear. Then fear as the bleeding started at just 9 weeks and again at 11 weeks. But all along the way I was able to recall the blessing I received the day we learned of this little angel's coming. Though my human fears prevailed at times, I have been thankful for the loving words of a Father in Heaven and have drawn on them for comfort throughout this journey.
As each month passed and I watched my body change and started to feel the movement of this little life...I was even more grateful for the opportunity to be able to be a mom. Michael felt the baby kick for the first time the night before Mother's Day. It was an emotional time for both of us. For him, the reality was more real that day because HE could feel the baby move!
We have seen more of this baby than most people will ever see during a pregnancy due to my "high-risk" nature because of my Gastric By-Pass. So, in many ways, we already know, to a degree, what this baby will look like, some of it's personality traits, and features. But no ultrasound will take the place of holding this baby in our arms for the first time.
Today is my due date, and as I think about how close this reality is, I contemplate all that we have been through leading up to this day and would be ungrateful if we did not thank God for the experiences that have helped to prepare us as individuals and as parents. He truly sees the big picture, even when we can only see what's in the view finder.
Thank you all for your love, your support, your encouragement, and your excitement as you have shared this time with us! We are blessed to have you all in our lives and look forward to sharing this angel with you!

Oh I got chills reading this. I am amazed at how much detail you can see through ultrasound. This little angle is and will be beautiful. I cannot tell you how excited I am for you and Michael. You both are truely loving and this baby will know they are loved as I am sure they know already. Good luck these next days and weeks ahead. I am proud to be your friends. ~Rebekah~
